I've been teaching a monthly paper crafting class with a friend and my mom at our church as part of our Women's Ministry these past few months. Last month we decided to "teach" these Monogrammed Note Card Sets scrap-lifted from http://shesasassylady.blogspot.com/2011/12/monogrammed-note-cards-make-great.html
I brought my E along and we monogrammed them for the ladies using the font from the Nursery Rhyme cartridge. For time's sake, we used punches for the circles and scallop circles. We also used some Fiskars and Martha Stewart border punches as well. The blue one pictured was a gift from my friend this past Christmas, I believe she used Ashlyn's Alphabet (monogram) and Elegant Edges (medallion). I have plans to monogram these others for my chicas' teachers at Christmas time.

Altered Comp Books
Here's two composition books that have been kicking around for a while. I finally added a little medallion to the front cover and made a corner bookmark to match. Each of my "chicas" will get one of these. I have to add their initial to the front cover before I give them to them. I used Elegant edges for the border along the side in the front and also the medallion. Gotta love that you can get the exact length you need! I only had scraps to make the bookmarks, so they came out a little smaller than I wanted, but they'll still be useful.
Cupcake wrappers
Our church’s theme for VBS this year is Space Quest. After searching through the Gypsy for “space” cuts…I found Life’s a Party had several space themed cuts. So, I volunteered to cut 130 cupcake wrappers. The size I used was 1.80, which allowed me to get 4 on a 12x12 sheet. I used a multi-colored pack of Recollections paper from Joann’s. It didn’t exactly cut cleanly, so after changing my blade and mat, I ended up cutting on multicut (2) and that seem to do the trick. I didn’t do anything else to them, since they’ll be used to surround “space” decorated cupcakes and will end up in the trash!! I also cut 200 pinwheels from the digital pinwheel cuts, but I didn’t take a picture of them. Maybe once the kids “build” them, I’ll be able to get a picture of them and post it.

Watching Olympic Opening Ceremonies
While I sit here watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies, thought I should add a blog post…especially since I just uploaded some pictures. This card is one I made for a very special young woman who got married back in June. I was having such a crafting block, so I looked at a project from one of the handbooks…Sweethearts…I think it came out pretty nicely…picture doesn’t do the paper justice! The white flowers are sparkly DCWV glitter paper…and the Linen Stack for the rest.

I’m on the bandwagon!
Well, I’ve decided to finally start a blog to document my many life lessons…about crafting, homeschooling my two “chicas”, and just living the life God has called me to.
Can’t promise this will be updated often…or be anything anyone else cares about…but it’ll be nice to have a place to “showcase” my creations.
Let the journey begin!
